Remember the original Spotted Squares quilt? It was one of the first quilts I made and it remains one of my favorites. And now, thanks to a special request, you’ll be seeing it again soon!
I still have lots of blocks to make, but I love how it’s looking so far! I hope the new recipient will as well!!
I almost forgot to show you this one! I made it a little while ago, and then it was immediately mailed off to its new home, so I didn’t really get to spend any time admiring it. It was pretty cute though!
Perhaps you recall the stack of blue and brown fabrics I showed earlier? I really love those colors together – simple yet sophisticated, I think. And I’m always happy when I can come up with something appropriate for a boy.
Once again, I went for nice simple stripes so I could really show off those cute Heather Ross goldfish.
For the backing, I used a nice blue solid (blueberry, maybe?) and a wide stripe of some of the remaining fabrics. Goldfish on both sides – what could be better than that?!
I stippled it with a cream colored thread, and bound it with the brown Katie Jump Rope basketweave print.
I hope it will be well-loved in its new home!
First up, blocks for a new quilting bee, Bee Imaginative. Kerri’s month is January, and she requested little houses. She sent along a wonderful array of red and aqua fabrics, along with some cute little gnomes.
I’ve seen so many of these cute little houses – originally here, by Ingrid Press, and then also here, here and here (to name just a few!), so I was excited to try them out myself… and they were really fun!
I started out with this one – just a cute little house with a crooked roof –
and then had enough extra fabrics to make this tall patchwork one –
