things that start with “a” (anna maria & anthropologie)

Ah, Anna Maria! I’ve been anxiously awaiting the newest line, Innocent Crush, though November seemed like such a long ways away. So it was a very happy day yesterday when I discovered that the quilting weight cottons came in early to Whipstitch! I hesitated for a split second, but then very quickly had a FQ bundle in my cart (and hopefully now on its way to me!)

Also now available from Hawthorne Threads!

And speaking of Anna Maria, while walking to get the mail yesterday, I started thinking about those tights she had pictured in the above photo. She mentioned she had gotten them at Anthropologie, which prompted me to check online to see what they had available (even though I almost never wear tights!). Imagine my surprise to come across this pair…

Perhaps you’re one of the many who love Flea Market Fancy? And perhaps you’d like to wear some (or a version thereof) on your legs? You can find this pair here. I’m not saying for sure, but a pair might have jumped right into my cart… you know, just in case a good tights-wearing opportunity should come my way!

Edited to add: Thanks to a heads-up from Kim (who has confirmed with Denyse Schmidt), I’ve been alerted that these tights are not legit. I guess mine will be going back to the store… (it’s a shame that this type of thing seems to be more and more common lately).

pretty polka dots (and a fabric winner!)

Thanks for all the great comments yesterday and this morning! It’s been fun reading about your weekends and also about all your favorite upcoming fabric lines. A lot of you also agreed with me that the polka dots in the new It’s a Hoot line are fun (polka dots are always fun, right?!), so when looking for a photo for this post, I figured I’d show you some more of my favorite polka dots.

These are Nani Iro double gauze fabrics, and even though I’ve yet to actually use these fabrics in any projects, I sure do love looking (and touching!) them! I don’t recall where I bought the red and aqua dots, but I did recently pick up the gray piece over at Nido. Fortunately (or unfortunately, as the case may be!) Phiona stocks lots of lovely Nani Iro fabrics, which I tend not to be able to resist.

Anyway, on to our winner!

Random.org picked lucky #427, Anna. Anna commented that she’s new to quilting, so I’m hoping that these charm packs will get her on her way to making lots of quilts!

Thanks to everyone for playing along!

it’s a hoot! a quilt top and giveaway

Happy Monday! How about a little fabric for your Monday?

I just discovered that precuts of MoMo’s newest line, It’s a Hoot, are available, so of course I couldn’t resist ordering a few charm packs. And then what would I do with charm packs? Why of course I’d just sew them together into a cute little baby quilt top!

I love it because it’s a quick and easy way to see how all the fabrics from that line work together. This line is brighter than my other favorite MoMo line, Wonderland, but I think it’s a fun change. I particularly like all of the basic prints included in this line — I’ll be looking to order some of those polka dots once yardage is available (October, I think?)

(Meanwhile, you can find charm packs & fat quarter stacks in various shops, including Whipstitch)

In the meantime, would you like to win a couple charm packs of this new line? I ordered a couple extras and I’d love to pass these two charm packs on to one lucky commenter. Just leave a comment here and I’ll pick a winner sometime tomorrow. Feel free to say hi, or tell me about something fun from your weekend, or if you want to talk about fabric, let me know what fabric line you’re waiting to buy. Personally, I’m waiting to hear more about Heather Ross’s new line with Kokka! (though unfortunately it’s not due out until next Spring…)

Comments are now closed! I’ll select and announce a winner shortly.
