black and white in color – a free quilt pattern

When it rains, it pours! I’m pleased to let you know that I have another free quilt pattern available, and I hope it’s one you’ll want to make! I made this quilt to show off the great black and white prints from Lotta Jansdotter’s upcoming line for Windham, Sylvia.

I love the way the black and white prints really pop off the brightly colored background, but of course it would look just as nice with a wide range of prints and solids (you can see another version I made here).

You can download the PDF pattern here. Do let me know if you have any questions, and of course, be sure to let me know if you make a quilt using this pattern!

Lovely quilt pattern! I like how it draws your eyes to the black and white prints. I’m always scared to move beyond squares, so this might be a good time to branch out and try a smaller version of the quilt using your blocks! Thank you!

I love this SO much. Can you share what color thread you used for the machine quilting? It compliments and does not override, which is wonderful.

Thank you for yet again, so much inspiration.

How lovely! This beauty ends my search for just the right throw for my daughter’s new white sofa. I can’t wait to get to work on it! I searched for an unusual, yet quick to make piece that was contemporary in style yet showcased my love of the time honored art of pieced quilting. Thank you so very much.
