It was supposed to rain here last weekend, so we figured it would be a good painting weekend (the weathermen were wrong, by the way…). Our bedroom was the only room we didn’t paint when we bought this place. It was painted a gold color, and while it wouldn’t have been my top pick for a bedroom color, it was ok enough to not require an immediate change.
However, during my ‘fabric as wall art’ craze, we covered a large frame with this great Marimekko print, Tuuli. The panel shows a tree in chocolate brown on a white background. And it really didn’t go well with the existing wall color!
I was looking for a color which I continually referred to as “spa blue” though I was hard pressed to actually describe what that color would look like. (I think I was trying to find a blue with some green/yellow tones.) I never quite found that color, but I do like what we ended up with (Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams, in case anyone’s interested!).
It’s really made the room look larger, brighter, and more airy. A nice change, for sure.
