Happy Friday to you! In place of my Friday fabric stack, I have a stack of lovely fabrics from the Kona Modern Quilts line by Cynthia Frenette for Robert Kaufman. This gorgeous stack is provided by Tammy from Marmalade Fabrics, and will be headed to one lucky winner!
I think this line is really interesting — displaying modern quilting designs as a faux patchwork design? Wonderful! On top of that, it’s designed to coordinate perfectly with Kona solids! It goes without saying that these prints would make wonderful quilt backs, pillows, bags – (I’m particularly fond of the gray circles shown above) – something where the print stays intact. However, Rita cut these prints up into smaller squares and made this gorgeous quilt, and the girls at Marmalade fabrics cut two of these prints up and made this wonderful quilt. Personally, I’m thinking I may be leaning towards another pair of quick change trousers for Max. I think the patchwork will make for fun pants (like these!) and as a bonus, I think it might disguise some of the mess which inevitably falls into his lap!
So, want to win some for yourself? Tammy has generously offered up a 1/2 yard bundle of the six prints in the Pacific colorway, as shown above. To enter, just leave a comment on this post. If you’d like, let me know what you’d like to sew out of this faux patchwork. I’ll select a winner on Sunday!
And a winner! Random.org selected Erin M., commenter #106, who said “I do really like the quilt that they made at marmelade fabrics. I feel like the way the prints are presented tones down the busyness in a great way. Thanks for the giveaway. I love the pacific colorway.” Thanks to all for entering!
Thank you Tammy for a fun giveaway! If you have a chance, I hope you’ll pop over to Marmalade Fabrics to take a look around. Tammy carries a really wonderful selection of prints and solids and her packaging and customer service is top notch!

Hi Ashley, These fabrics are so interesting – I love how they look cut up in the different quilts. I, too, first thought they’d be best in quilt backs – how unimaginative of me
– I’d definitely be cutting them up – and I’d venture out of my usual white or ash sashing and venture into something from the new colours. Oooh, can’t wait until they’re in our stores. Pam
