nothing to show…

I looked through my photos from this weekend and realized that I have nothing crafty to show you! We had a nice weekend here, and the majority of my time was spent enjoying summer and ignoring my sewing machine (though I did bring it with me to the beach yesterday, as if I was actually going to whip it out and do a little sewing!)

In between relaxing at the beach I also had a chance to take a quick trip to Blueberry Hill to visit with Heather Ross, Liesl Gibson, and the weekend sewing group. Unfortunately my camera remained in the car the whole time, but hopefully there will be some photos popping up from their weekend – looks like it was a great group and I’m sure they all had a blast!

I’ll leave you with this photo of fabric squares, which shows the only crafting I did this weekend. Hopefully these squares will transform themselves into a quilt top this week!

I smiled when I read your post. When I go somewhere I also take the sewing machine, hand sewing, maybe knitting too. Just in case. I completely get it. Over half the time I don’t use the machine but still it goes with me.

I’m just glad you took a little break to enjoy the weekend! Sometimes I come back to my machine so much more inspired when I actually miss it.

YUMMY stack! It’s good to have a little break sometimes, it makes coming back to it all that much more fun.

    Hi Ashley–

It was fun to meet you this weekend! I posted a few nice pics of Liesl and Phiona with your quilts over here.

It was such a treat to see your quilts in person. I hope to see you again!

I wonder if I am the only one of your fans who thinks that cutting a stack of squares so beautifully IS really quite something….Sigh……

Sounds like a restful and relaxing weekend! I love that you brought your sewing machine along to the beach – too funny. You did in fact get some crafting done with that gorgeous stack of cheerful squares cut and ready.

I’d say that stack is something to show! I love the colors…they remind me of sherbet :)
