Even though I don’t often sew with knits, I was really excited to see that a few of the prints from Heather Ross’s latest line, Briar Rose, would be available as knits. I received a little sample of each of the four prints from the great people at Windham Fabrics, and decided I’d try to eek out a pair of baby leggings. Since I only had a bit, they’re pretty small, but as it turns out, that was a good thing because Hazel is pretty small too!
The jersey is so soft and lovely, and who can resist those adorable strawberries?! As an added treat, Windham sent along a larger piece of the pink strawberry print as an early baby gift (thank you!!) and I wasted no time in turning it into a matching blanket. I paired it with a solid plum colored interlock knit for the backside and bound it in a hot pink knit.
And then of course once Hazel was born I wasted no time in photographing her wearing her strawberry leggings while laying on her strawberry blanket. I couldn’t not!
