Today I’d love to welcome a new sponsor and share with you another great online shop! I do a lot of fabric shopping online, and I love to have a variety of shops to visit. I’ve had fun browsing (and shopping!) at Lauren’s shop, Sew Modern.
I actually had a chance to meet Lauren in person at an L.A. Modern Quilt Guild meeting a couple years ago. Since meeting, she’s opened this wonderful shop in Los Angeles and from what I’ve seen of it in photos, it looks absolutely gorgeous!
(photo borrowed from Lauren’s blog) Look at all that fabric goodness! And that wall of solids!!
Lauren carries all the great new fabric lines, and in fact, it’s where I shopped recently to pick up some of those Melody Miller typewriters (a few of you were asking!) (oops, looks like they’re sold out now!), as well as a couple of the great new circle prints from Laurie Wisbrun’s Modern Whimsy line.
And today, Lauren has a giveaway for you! A jelly roll of this great new line, Half Moon Modern. If you haven’t seen these prints yet, go take a peek! Lots of great basics in wonderful colors, and a perfect addition to any fabric stash!

I hope you’ll take a little peek at Lauren’s shop, and if you feel the itch to start shopping, Lauren’s provided a coupon for 10% off your purchase until Tuesday, January 16th – just use coupon code FITF10

I love the new Half Moon Modern line…the colors and prints are wonderful! I’ve been trying to get back on the quilting track since Christmas, but just can’t seem to get in gear. Maybe some new fabric would inspire me???
My niece is expecting triplets in March, so I’m pretty sure that such pretty fabric would be nice in one of the baby blankets! (if not all)

Great fabrics! I’ve recently had the urge to start making blankets for Project Linus, and I would love to use these fabrics for my first project.
Mmmm, these prints are divine! I’ve got one quilt top ready for quilting and a second that needs bordering and basting. But I love cutting up scraps (I’m crazy like that), so I believe my next project will be a scrappy + and X quilt!
I’m waiting for Alexander Henry’s The Ghastlies in mauve to arrive so I can start a pillow. An idea for the print has been rumbling around in my brain . . .

Thanks so much for the chance!!
Beautiful fabric!!!!!
I will have 2 WIP’s. I started a Block of the Month with Craftsy.com where we will be making 2 block a month for the next 10 months. I will also start a Christmas wall hanging that I found on thepurlbee.com.
Dianne
I’m working on some fabric “baskets,” fashioned after European bread baskets that fold flat for storage. Love that feature!!
Next up is a robot-themed baby blanket for a new little boy.
I have a quilt to make for a customer, and an overdue quilt for a baby boy.
Good to know where to pick up some of Melody’s typewriters! They’re pretty fabulous! My next project is to go back to a quilt is started making last year. Big sawtooth stars using vintage bedlinens and a nice medium grey solid. I’m quite excited to get back to it.
This fabric line has such fun prints! Right now, I’ll be continuing to work on some embroidery pieces for a project.
After making quilts for everyone else, I think I might make something for me (what a concept!). I’ve got some Joel Dewberry Modern Meadow that would be perfect.
I’m going to make a quilt for my sister — every day she sends me more (different) inspiration pictures, not sure what she’s going to eventually choose! Thanks for the chance at the giveaway, I love those little scissors
I am thinking of making a quilt for my bed as I have never made one for it and it is time!

I LOVE this new line of fabric & I’ve been looking for some new online shops to browse. Perfect! I think my next project might be a puff quilt- its been on my list for a while.
My next project is a collaboration with my mom – we have some vintage fabric stars that were sewn by my grandmother so we want to put them on pieces of solid and sew them together as a small quilt or wall hanging.
I plan to FINALLY finish my first bed quilt (2+ years). It turned out larger than a King and boy was that biting off more than I could quilt.

Thanks for the giveaway!
What a great line…I bought some charm packs of Half Moon in black and white, but I’m even more in love with the colors! My projects for this week include making a back for a storm-at-sea quilt that is several years in the making…so excited to have the top pieced but I have no clue how I should quilt it! I’m also working on a duvet cover for my brother and sister-in-law. He is a potter, and I thought the colors from Kate Spain’s Fandango line were perfect (and luckily, I found a little left at my LQS to use to make Hyacinth Design’s garden fence pattern…now for the fourth time!). If you need some inspiration, I just finally got around to ordering Modern Mix and Modern Blocks (and Block Party – well done!) from Connecting Threads during their 40% off books sale, and I’m going crazy there are so many things I want to make! As if I needed more inspiration…I’ve still got tons of things marked from your tutorials that I want to try, too! So much fabric…so little time!
. Have a great day!
Wow! What a wonderful looking store! Love all that solid fabric to choose from! I am getting into gear to finish up a quilt or two from 2011 and then have many more I want to start.
Like you I should be piecing some quilt backs but instead I’m moving on to a Swoon quilt!
I love that line! And how lame am I that I live 7 miles from that shop and _didn’t even know about it_? And regularly within 5 blocks of it–but never ever drive that block?!I am still mourning the loss of my favorite shop over a year ago, and now I have a field trip to make this week! squeeeeeeeee
My next project is likely to be a string quilt in my very own way. I plan to take copious photos and make it a tutorial for my blog (my first quilt tut ever)! Sew Modern looks thoroughly lovely.
I just finished two tops that need a back & quilted. LOVE half moon moderns bright & happy colors!!
I need to finish a baby quilt for my sister in law. My nephew is already four months–yikes!–I need to get going on that!
Getting a jumpstart on Christmas and starting 5 quilts for my sisters! Lovely store, would love to see it in person!
I love this line of fabrics. Such vibrant colours. I’m finishing a quilt for my son’s girlfriend, then will need a new project, though really this should be a string quilt to use up my stash of scraps. I could be persuaded otherwise! Thanks for the chance to win
I’m going to make a “sunshine snowball” quilt.
Oh man, I’ve been eyeing that Half Moon Modern for a bit now!!
My next project is a monogram quilt for my middle son who I have realized does not have a quilt made by me yet!!!
I love this fabric line. Those ladies in LA are lucky to have such a nice fabric shop.
Next project? A quilt for my new grand baby that’s coming in April. Thanks for the chance.
I’m working on the binding for my first quilt. I’m in LOVE with the Half Moon Modern prints. I want them ALL!

I LOVE the give away! I’ve had my eye on that great fabric for a little while. And thanks for the introduction to Lauren’s shop. I feel the need for a field trip! Thanks for the chance.
Oh my goodness that picture makes my heart flutter!! What a glorious space!
Next project – decided to do another scrappy 9 patch quilt, but limiting myself to only orange, yellow, rust, brown and sage scraps. I think my mom will love it. Her birthday is in June though, so I’d better get cracking on that cutting!
I’m working on a project for MY bed for a change! One I’ll actually keep and use for myself. (How often does that happen!??)
The shop looks amazing! I have king-size quilt to get started for a wedding gift and a puppet theater to finish for the kids to put in the doorway.
i’m waffling between beginning the swoon quilt and the rubiks crush. i have a fat quarter bundle of prince charming all laid out and i stare at it over and over trying to make a decision. i am pretty sure the swoon will win.
anyhow, thanks for the giveaway. i have been putting various bundles and yardage of the half moon in my shopping cart at various online sites and pretending like i’m going to buy it, before remembering our new years budget does not currently allow for it. i suppose that’s the internet version of window shopping. anyhow, i hope i win. fingers crossed.
thanks.
sarah.

Next up is a mini Swoon quilt. One block of wonderful goodness! Now to pick the fabrics.

three quilts in the works, and then some! Thanks for the chance!
Ooo! So pretty! I’m challenging myself to work on some projects that aren’t designed in blocks (my go-to). By breaking with that structure, I’m excited about discovering some new possibilities.
As a secretary, as they called us 25 years ago, I actually used typewriters, fun to put something classic together in a modern way, love the colors.
I have seen these, and I love them! thanks for the chance.
Love that shop, here in NH most of our shops lean more towards traditional so I always love to hear of online shops with modern fabrics. I am trying to finish some old projects before I start anything new. Thanks for the chance to win
I have a couple of quilt tops I need to finish. Very nice new sponsor
I am working on lots and lots of place mats

The next project to finish up is a Kindle cover for a friend…or backing/quilting a quilt top that’s been sitting neglected…or putting together a stack of handkerchief quilt blocks for my niece…or making some more pillow cases…or finishing up a X-stitch…or if I win that jelly roll, I’ll have to start dreaming up all kinds of new projects!
I need to finish a pile of UFOs. Okay, it might be a huge pile.
No new starts for me until I finish the 4 quilts that are in various stages from just pieced to half quilted. They mock me everytime I walk into my studio.
My next quilt will be a Christmas quilt for my nephew and his wife. Never too early to start working on next year’s gifts. I love Christmas!

Lovely fabric, especialy the grey…. Best regards from Denmark
These fabrics are so inviting. Love the typewriters too. I am not starting any new projects since I am knee deep in about 10 or more quilts that I keep setting aside. New years resolution FINISH. But after that lots of quilts in my mind. Thanks. love to see pictures of Max by the way.
Love the fabric. My next project is a quilt with matching pillows for my neice.
Thanks for the tip on where to get the typewriters! Cute shop!
Ooooh! I live near LA so this is great news! My next project is having a go at hand quilting!
I would love to win this giveaway. With four kids & working I just don’t get the time to do as much sewing as I’d like to these days. Plus the 4th baby is a newborn. But I’ve got my Christmas quilt that needs just a bitting of quilting to finish. This year my goal is to make a quilt for my bed, matching quilts for my boys room and matching quilts for my girls room. I’ve got pretty simple quilts lined up for these so I hope I can get them finished and quilted. It’s easy getting the top finished but I never seem to get them quilted. That’s my new years goal, get the quilts finished.
My next project is another zig zag quilt, this time done with rectangles on point instead of sewing a bunch of ridiculous triangles together to achieve the same effect
I just have to work up the nerve to cut the fabric and get started.
I’m currently working on a quilt top, then will completely finish it before starting another! That’s my goal at least! Great giveaway!
Great fabric! I wish I had a shop like this by me.

just starting a girly sparkle punch with the sparkle punch quilt along
and I want to start with leah day’s free motion quilting sessions
I just finished a quilt top as well, but I have another one basted and waiting to be quilted. I’m going to make myself do that before I start another…
My next project is a blessing outfit for my newborn. I have the materials for it; I just have to cut it out – which is my least favorite part.
And for when I need a break from THAT, I have one of the Block of the Month quilts from Joanns that I’m anxious to start working on. (No cutting necessary!!)
I have two quilts tops waiting to be finished. One is from a round robin I did with a group of friends. The focus fabric from the second top is some fabric that my husband brought me from Africa. I had a hard time trying to decide what to do with the print.

Thanks for the giveaway! My next project is a new wave echo quilt!

For me it will be a baby quilt using the Rail Fence, fabric line Power Flower Batik FQ bundle. Oh no, most likely a postage stamp quilt using Raspberry Parfait batik FQ bundle (I have all the pieces cut).

I need to focus on one thing at a time, so my current project is to quilt and bind a quilt I started in 2009. SO SAD that it’s taken me this long to decide to finish working on it; at least I’ve got the quilt basted! But I’m trying to organize and figure out what to do with my sewing room, so part of that is to finish projects that I started. Got two more quilts to finish too.

I am a self taught quilter who started with art quilts to a crazy quilt to traditional piecing and just finished applique! But I am a little apprehensive about making a modern quilt. Wow, that is a fabric shop I’d love to visit! For my next project I’m planning a quilt for my new (well, he’s not one yet, so ‘new’ still counts, right?) nephew Miles. I want to do a simple strip quilt with one strip having his name pieced in. I have most of the fabrics, but not quite all yet. My next project is the Moda Bake Shop Modern Halves Quilt made from Half Moon Modern! This collection has grabbed me more than any other in a long time. I would love to have the matching Jelly Roll. I love those bright, saturated colors. Put together, the blocks remind me of the Mexican paper cuts done for holiday decorating.
I have a few quilts in the works, but despite that, I am going to start a quilt just-for-us, a simple “plus sign” log cabin from Susan Beal’s book, in Central Park and Kona Wheat. I love it already.
i am going to start a sock quilt for my son. He always wears odd socks!
Ooooh, I love those scissors! I have a couple of bees and swaps but I think my next project for me will be the Camelot quilt – 16 different blocks of hand pieced circles in lots of scrappy fabrics – yum! This will be my longer term project this year. Thanks for the chance to win!
Beautiful fabrics! I’m working on a wallhanging for my husband’s birthday.
I am about 2 or 3 quilts ahead of myself (planning stage only) – but I can only cut and sew so fast! Ta for the giveaway.
I would love to make a lapquilt in time for our Winter down here.
Please include me in you giveaway, I’d ove to win some Half Moon Modern! And yay, another online fabric shop, never too many IMO!

greetings from Vienna (Austria, Europe), Selina
I’d love to do a quilt for my son’s bed
Beautiful range of colors in this line. I love the aqua prints. I will begin a quilt top for a single bed for the guest room I slept in for three weeks in Nogales, Chile. My co traveler will also make a quilt top for the bed she slept in. A kind of hostess gift after the fact. We will use the same fabrics, but different quilt patterns. Fresh, pastels with a light green polka dot background. Cannot wait to get started.
my next quilt is Swoon. I hope to start cutting it out this weekend. Thanks for a new fabric source and the give away.
Oh my !
I need a trip to the USA just to visit that quilt shop ! It’s fantastic !
Thank you for the giveaway. never won one yet, but….you never know, I’ll keep plugging away.
Jan xx
I’m taking an old plain thin quilt that my Mum made back in the 80s and adding an extra layer of batting and patchwork to one side to make it happy again. The side I’m preserving is Liberty Iolanthe ( http://www.historicstyle.com/artnouveau/fabrics/ianthe.html ), which pretty much sums up my style back then. Nice to be able to keep it as the backing for this “new” quilt.
Thanks for the chance to win – next project: a quilt for my little boy.
My next project is a hexagonquilt. Thanks so much for the lovely give away!
I have just finished a project and am a bit restless about the next one. I think it is going to be a picnic quilt and then a cushion for my nephew.
I’m working on a baby quilt for my newest great nephew. Thanks for the chance to win.
It seems like the world is making baby quilts. I’m finishing one now and have another one to go, for yet another boy.
I will be starting my first quilt in just a few days when my fabric arrives in the mail.
I am quilting a top now, am in the middle of a mystery quilt, and want to make a purse for a gift. Lots of other projects to finish. I love this line of fabric.
Great store. Always need another alternative to buy quality fabric. Thanks for all your ideas and sources.
I just found out someone I am close to is pregnant. My next project is going to be a baby quilt!!

My next project will be getting ready for free motion quilt along with Quokka quilts and some dresdens . I wish I had a quilt store like that near me, but I am happy to shop on line
I just moved, so all my projects are in boxes except one. I think I’ll take them out one at a time and finish them? Perhaps? I pulled out a scrappy string stacked coins quilt to finish. Love Half Moon Modern!
Oh, my goodness! This shop is close enough to visit and is now on my list of places to go next in L.A. Thanks for the introduction.
Love the fabric! My next quilt top is going to be the “My Whimsical Quilt Garden” pattern from Piece O’ Cake Designs.
Would love to add these to it! Thanks.

Wow what a stash!!! My son wants a blue Jean quilt so that is next for me!
My next project is to clean my sewing room! That will never happen, so it’ll be several easy scarves!
It’s going to be a handmade holiday this next year for everyone for Christmas. Got to get started now (with an 8 month old, as you know, can be hard to get stuff done)!

My 10 year old son asked me to make him a quilt. I would love these prints to make something special for him! It’s not often a boy that age asks for something homemade from mom!
What a beautiful shop! thanks for the giveaway!
Best of luck Lauren in your new adventure! My next project is a lightbulb quilt for my Dad…who worked for a utility company for all of his life. I will base it on a design by Lizzy House.
My next project is a “stacked books” quilt, though for some reason, I’m dying to try my hand at making a stuffed teddy bear out of my scraps. Hmmm…
I so love the Half Moon Modern and guess my next project really must contain these fabrics. My next crafting idea is to construct a family tree using appropriate fabrics for each family member’s leaves and trying to embroider their names around the leaves in appropriate colours. I then want to put this on the wall of my new sewing room. Phew! Sounds like a year long task (I have a large family!)
Her store looks lovely! I’ll definitely have to stop by the website, Thanks for the intro
And I adore Half Moon Modern!! Thanks for the chance to win some. I am currently finishing up a pair of photo lap quilts for an adorable pair of boys whose dad is stationed overseas for the year. Once those are finished, I am making some curtains and a tablecloth for another friend and a toddler quilt for my cousin’s little girl. THEN, I hope to actually sew something for myself. Hopefully finishing up the 3 quilt tops I already have waiting to be sandwiched. lol Wow, when I type it all up, the beginning of this year is pretty booked already! Oy!

My next project is some cushion(pillow) covers for my sister’s birthday. Thanks for a lovely giveaway.
I guess my new project has to be a recent order for 50 yards worth of outdoor patio curtains! I don’t look forward to it. They are long (10ft), heavy, pinch-pleated, and tan (boring)! But as soon as I get them done, I can start a new quilt with my Ruby fabric from Bonnie and Camille! (Love yours, by the way.)
I am working on a star quilt in white, blue and lime green the neglected sitting room outside my bedroom. Each block is a different style of star. I am loving how it is coming together.

We can worry about the backs tomorrow right!
My next project is a quillow for my DH’s pickup. It’s a drafty old thing. What great fabric for a giveaway.
I have about 6 yds of Etsuko Furuya that I’ve been hoarding. It’s time to cut into those beauties for a huge quilt. Also waiting to find out the gender of my friends baby to start making all things tiny.

I’d love to win! My next project is a quilt for my 1 year old!
As usual, I have a mountain of unfinished projects, but soon enough I’ll be working on a baby quilt for a dear friend. She’s thinking of trees and owls for the baby’s room, would love to try something different…still want to try some strip quilts. My daughter turned 3 this week, and I’ve had fabric set for a twin sized quilt for about 2 years now, just need the time and pattern inspiration!

These are great! I am hoping to start my first quilt since a big move…OhFransson’s Sparkle Punch Quilt Along
My next project is some burp clothes and a plastic bag holder for gifts.
I love the colors in this line. I have a hand applique project going now, am doing the Takes Two challenge but am waiting for the new blocks as I have the first 6 done. Have a log cabin that needs blocks sewn together but am wanting to start a bright baby quilt that I have a kit for. So much to do & so little time. Thanks for the give away.
I’ve got three quilts in process right now. One is a Cat in the Hat quilt. The center is finished, and I’m deciding on borders. Meanwhile I’ve got a black, gold, grey, and white quilt that I’m doing a rail fence pattern on, with black on both sides to emphasize the basket-weave effect.
And, thanks to YOU, I’m starting a dark red and butter yellow strip quilt. It looks so easy (and fast!) on your website.
Thanks!

my next-up project is a baby quilt for my dentist.
I love this line…thanks for doing a giveaway of it! My next project is actually going to be some Christmas table linens. This last Christmas I realized I’ve never actually made any Christmas linens for my own table, so I’m going to get some done now while I’m still “sort of” in the holiday mood!
I’m just finishing up a couple of bright modern quilts, so my next project will include dipping into my stash of solids – I’ve been waiting for a “vision”. After that I’ll be ready to use this fabulous jelly roll!!!!
I’m starting another baby quilt top even through I already have a bunch of quilt tops that need backs and quilted. I’m using leftover fabrics from thrifted mens dress shirts to make my next top.

I’m about to start a baby quilt for THE FIRST baby to be born in my family (my little sister is leading us all into the world of parenthood). I can’t wait — for the new baby or the quilt! Picking fabrics is my favorite part, and I’m already off to a great start. These prints would be a great addition to the bold colors I’m planning. Thanks for sharing!
I would love to make a sewing machine cover, and a matt with this for my new sewing room.

Great Fabric! Exciting to hear about new shops too! My next project is a recipe book cover and some pot holders for a gift <3
I have soooo many WIPs that I really should plan on making my next project finishing my old projects.
Wouldn’t a jelly roll of Half Moon Modern be fabulous? Yes, I think so! I’m finishing up a quilt for a friend and then I’m starting a quilt for Pat Bravo’s A Quilt For a Smile project, benefitting Project Linus. So many gorgeous Art Gallery Fabrics scraps to work with…it will be so much fun to put together!
After I finish what I have on my table, I am planning on making a twin set for myself (Hot Patterns). I still need to trace the cardigan but the tank is ready to be stitched up.
My next focus is a Art Quiltlet for a table top quilt stand using angelina fibers. It’s been a UFO for a bit and I need to get it crossed off my to do list and move it to my “to DONE LIST”! LOL Thanks for the chance. Happy New Year! Great Giveaway BTW.
Yes yes would love to win this jelly roll as like the colors… I’m making hexies while heal from a back injury … and next will work on borders for LMS Birdie Stitches … by then will be ready to put these aside as UFOs and start something new (with Half Moon perhaps?) Thanks for the giveaway.
That store looks fabulous! I’m going to do a camera case for myself and a friend….a quickie quilted project with a ribbon tie!
Oooh, they are gorgeous, what a great giveaway. I’m thinking of tackling some kind of old style quilt, but with modern fabric, so these would do just the trick!

I am finishing up three quilts in process from who knows when…before I take on anything new! I would love to win that jelly roll!
I just started a sewing machine cover up! I love Sew Modern! Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve been to Sew Modern. It’s such a great shop! It’s the only place in LA that specializes in quilting that has modern, fresh fabrics, not grandma quilting prints.
