Hope Valley Quilt 4
This is quilt #4 of a series of 4 quilts I made using the purple and orange prints from Denyse Schmidt’s Hope Valley. Each of the four blocks in this quilt are improv pieced, so each is totally unique.
In this quilt, I sewed the four blocks together and added a cream colored border to make it pop from the purple background. I placed the blocks in the upper corner for a modern, abstract look. The four tiny squares in the lower corner is a marking system to signify that this is the fourth quilt in the series.
On the reverse, I’ve done a pieced back, making this a reversible quilt (in case you prefer this side more!). It’s pieced with the remaining solids and prints.
I machine quilted it with a series of random straight lines. To add a bit of extra interest, I did a double stitch line on occasional lines.
It’s bound with a purple print from the Hope Valley line, and it’s been washed in environmentally friendly detergent. It measures about 35″ x 40″, and would make a great baby quilt, or even a great wall hanging!
