Just a quick little post today… A few people have suggested I start a Flickr group where you all could post projects you might have made from my tutorials or quilts that may have been inspired by any I’ve made. I’ve been hesitant to start it (mainly just a bit embarrassed about starting a Flickr group about my own projects!), but finally decided to go for it. I hope you’ll consider joining, and/or adding a few images if you’ve made something inspired by anything you’ve seen here. I’m thinking it might also be a good place for people to ask questions too, so please feel free to use the discussion part of the Flickr group for any questions. You can find the group here. Go take a look if you have a chance – there are already some great photos there!
And to kick it off, how about a little giveaway? I’ve put together a selection of fabric scraps – they’d be perfect for some improv blocks, or for strips for a string quilt, or maybe for some rings for a fabric chain? Whatever you want, really. There’s some Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry, even a little Flea Market Fancy… hopefully a little something you might like. To enter, head on over to the Flickr group and leave a comment in the discussion. Feel free to introduce yourself if you want, or you can just stop in to say hi. Or perhaps you’d like to suggest a tutorial you’d like to see? I might be able to be persuaded…
I’ll pick a winner on Monday. Liz (goddessinprogress on Flickr) is our winner!
This is perfect! I just started a string quilt with your tutorial and was wondering how I could link you to it π
How exciting! I’m relatively new to blogging, but love all the sewers/quilters out there. It’s addicting. As for a tutorial, I think any tips on quilting would be awesome, I’m sure you’ve shared some already.
I’ll definitely join the flickr group. And your scraps look amazingly like….mine! Except for Flea Market Fancy. Would love some of those scraps!
I’m planning to make cloth napkins using your tutorial after I finish up a few projects I’m in the middle of right now. I’ll have no trouble finding uses for these lovely pieces of fabric. Some would probably wind up in the cloth napkins too.
I just joined the group. I love your work and I’m looking forward to seeing others work.
I LOVE your quilts, they are really inspiring!! So i think the flickr group is a great idea!
How inspiring. I can’t wait to try some of your tutorials!
I love the new look to your blog!!!
and I love looking at Flicker! I don’t use it much yet but I should get into the habit of using it… maybe after exams I’ll check it all out… until then, I’m off to leave messages in your discussion!!! I’d love to win that fabric. You can’t get any of it here in NL!
I’ve long admired your style of quilting…thanks for the inspiration!
You alone have inspired me to take a quilting class. Yep You. I can now see outside the predictable quilting box and I am going to try to channel you at the class. So if your feet or hands start tingling in a week, you will know it is me.
ooh I am in love with your scrappy goodness! π
Fun give away. I enjoy and learn a lot from reading your blog.
I wish my stash was big enough to give away some of it. You rock and so do all your quilts.

I have made one of your string quilts, but with black center strips. It turned out very dramatic. I’d like to try another with white and this would be a good starting point.

I’m just heading over to join your Flickr group. I love your quilts.
Pretty fabrics

I’d love to see a flickr group with more quilts like yours! Can’t wait! I’d also love to be the one to get to play with those lovely fabrics. Keep inspiring!
Love all of the fabrics – you have such a good eye for color.
Nice giveaway! Do you happen to know the maker of that dark wood print fabric in the front of the picture? I’ve been looking all over for something like that, and haven’t had any luck… I’ve seen lots of other colors, but not a nice dark brown.
fyi… I love visiting your blog but some change you have made has made my virus protection program classify your blog as a dangerous site. I get a warning to close browser & not reopen the site! You might want to check to be sure this isn’t affecting others as well. I hope you can fix it so I can continue to visit.
Love the scrap pile. Love your blog. Very inspiring.
Been quilting for 17 years. In transition, tastewise, for the umteenth time.
I love the fabrics, and your quilts (and your productivity) are always inspiring!
I just love the quilts you make, nice combinations of fabric. Maybe this giveaway will help me do something similar…
