Thought I’d share a few sites I’ve been enjoying lately. Feel free to share others in the comments!

By now you’ve probably seen Jacquie’s Joy in the New Year challenge. Count up the number of unfinished projects you have and leave her a comment letting her know how many you have. The goal is to finish as many as you can before the new year. There are a number of prizes to be awarded and it might be just the push we all need to get some of those projects finished! As of last count, I think I only have 3, though I probably should have said 4. I have one that hasn’t really been started, but that must be finished before the end of the year, so hopefully I’ll have at least one finish. I don’t really expect to finish either the never-ending string quilt, or my queen sized munki munki quilt.

Have you seen this new Flickr group? Katie (previously of Willy Nilly, but now of Sew Katie Did) started a new Flickr group showcasing quilt backs. I love it! I often like the backs of my quilts more than the fronts, and I really love seeing all these quilt backs in one place. After I uploaded a bunch of my quilt back photos, I even added a set on my own flickr account of just quilt backs.  Fun to look at, and often inspiring for ideas for quilt tops.

How about this new blog, Modify Tradition? An interesting look at what makes a quilt modern, and how to use traditional quilt blocks in a more modern way. (And yes, I’d like this new blog even if they hadn’t shown a couple of my quilts!) From what I can tell, they’ll be providing tutorials on several quilt blocks so you’ll be able to create your own modern sampler quilt.

And speaking of quilt alongs, I already mentioned the quilt along that will be starting over at Block Party. They’re having a giveaway to kick it all off – go enter to win some fabric, including one of my very favorites – paint by number birds in blue by Erin Michael! They also have a new Flickr group for the quilt along where you can post photos of the quilt blocks you make. It’s also a great place to look if you’re looking to join a virtual quilting bee — looks like there are several new bees starting!

And this photo below is not related to websites at all — just a photo of the start of a new quilt. I’m still debating, so tell me, does this read too much like Fall to you?
