I think it’s possible that I use a polka dot in nearly every quilt I make. Every time I pull fabrics for a new quilt I automatically reach for a polka dot or two. I find them so useful as coordinating prints, and as such, have kind of filled my stash with polka dots of all shapes, sizes and colors. Hows about you? Do you share my love of polka dots? I love polka dots. They are very useful in all sort of quilts. I don’t however love then as much as my 3 year old niece. She wants everything spotty. Socks, vests, pants, dresses, tops. It’s a shame that as we grow up we can’t get away with that sort of thing anymore.

I’m so excited about this giveaway because dots are one of my favorites to use in quilts! They are right up there with stripes, which come in seconds, and checks are kind of down there in last spot. i haven’t made enough quilts to have anything qualify as a “basic” for me, but i’m willing to bet it would be polka dots. i have polka dot sneakers, multiple polka dot bags and pouches, polka dot long underwear, and even a polka dot suitcase (no one takes the wrong bag with my suitcase!) love love love polka dots♥

Dots for me! They seem to blend with everything and add a bit of whimsy.

I love polka dots but I use more stripes in my quilts. The right stripe as a border can really pull the whole quilt together.

There is no such thing as a bad dot. I use them a lot and I find they brighten and lighten up almost every design.
I also like using stripes–sometimes manipulating stripe directions can move your eye around a quilt.

I actually really love spots! I like ones like fabric in the picture above because they remind me of my childhood. I also like tone-on-tones spots that match the other printed fabric I’m using in a quilt so it all coordinates

Love Jackie’s shop and quilting aesthetic… the girl has got serious talent. Love Kaffe dots..such a great additon to any quilt…so bright and cheery. My basics of choice are solids…such a great way to display great polka dot fabric.
Our son loves polka dots and it’s hard to find polka-dotted boys’ clothes. What fun he’d have just LOOKING at this stack…but not half the fun I’ll have sewing with it.

I love dots! I have a wonderful all dot pattern I want to do for a local home for girls. I’ve been collecting but these dots are the best. I guess my basic is shirting. I’m doing a lot of scrappy style quilts they work with. I’m loving lively flowers too. Ok, I’m fickle when it one’s to fabric.

I love Jackie’s site and have followed her for a long time now. As for Kaffe fabrics what can one say- they are brilliant.. I have not used polka dot much in my quilts but these ones look like fun. I love tone on tone fabrics – they are such fun and can read like a solid but still have a textured effect.

I always liked polka dots growing up but Mother not a fan at all. However, when I became pregnant with my son, Deven she had gone shopping and brought me an outfit she had purchased and it was a white shirt with navy blue dots along with navy shorts that sported white dots. the shirt had a large bow on the back and although I loved it I knew that these two items of bows and dots were definitively not something she would normally even glance at but something about it she liked and your fabric in your give away I think of my Mother in a fond memory and smile. I love how dots fit in with everything, but bring a sparkle to a block. Sort of like the dot of white a painter adds to an eye, dots in a quilt block establish an angle/perspective that moves the eye around a quilt.

I don’t really have a favorite basic. In the past I just bought whatever I liked and hoped that something I already had would look good with it. So there are plenty of fabrics around here that would look great with those dots!

I did an entire quilt with every piece used with polk-a-dots. It was a very easy stripy quilt, I purchased a jelly roll specifically for it. Dots make me happy because they alsways seem to be printed in bright colors, MY FAVORITE!!!!!
