If I had all the time in the world,

I’d make quilts out of all these fabric stacks.
I’ll just keep making stacks!

I think that is part of my making quilts. There are a few stacks scattered around my craft room too.
Ooooh some gorgeous stacks here!
OH,I am so there with you! I have at least 5 stacks that will not even be touched until next year, and by then I will have at least 5 more! Your stacks are gorgeous; I hope to see at least one quilt soon
I adore the bird print on the top of the top stack! Do you know what line it is??
That’s a print from an older Urban Chicks line, Sweet.
I know the feeling…
Those are all so beautiful, Ashley! You know, I need to go make some imaginary quilt stacks. That’s a lovely idea!
I love it. Even if you don’t have time to make all those quilts, what inspiration you are producing! Way to get the creativity going!
You are SO GOOD at color selection. It makes me crazy. Even with Jeni’s tutorials I can’t manage to pull together a decent stack of fabrics.
You need to go ahead and make that top stack into something!
Oh love the greens and greys, blues and the mustard’s / purples
I love a good stack. The photos are such useful reference for later projects too, Amy(Badskirt) used to do a themed stack group and each week a member picked a different theme- very creative and interesting to do whilst it lasted
I’ve got stacks like those too ~ really like the orange toned one!
I love all the pretty colours
GREAT stacks!! love each and every one!
This made me smile! I hear you. (and they are beautiful)
You are so talented Ashley that we will probably see at least two (?) next week. : )
Stacks are good – especially your stacks!
Mmm, I love them all. You have a great stash.
Oh that top stack is just perfect.
Love your top shot of the turquoise and grey. Stacks are sometimes just as fun to collect. And January is coming when it will be a great time to tackle one of those.
I so wish I could buy you a Starbucks and drag you to my LQS with me!! You have such an incredible knack for putting fabrics together, and that is always the hardest part for me.
I wish you had all the time in the world too, because I’d really love to see what those stacks could become!
lovin those color combos! Blues and greens are my fave!
Gosh you have a good eye for picking fabric. I wish I could do that.
You also get heaps of comments – 22 already!
Ack, I love those stacks!
Hee hee, love your stacks!
lol, my mail just came with an order of fabric and I was just sitting here making stacks with it!
Half the fun is getting there!
I love the first stack! Making stacks is half the fun!!
I love your fabric
So pretty! Hard to pick a favorite stack here, maybe the first or second one, but I love them all. I love making fabric stacks like this too. Sometimes, I run out of counter space in my sewing room so I end up putting some stacks back on the shelves since I can’t keep up with the ideas. Fun to dream!
I know the feeling.. If I had all the time in the world I would make more quilts too! I have a few stacks in my sewing room.
I just finished an orange/beige top. Started with a stack of dreams…
Those gorgeous stacks have know justified my need to build up my stash substantially!! (Like I needed a reason!) Thanks for sharing, inspiration overload!
FITF, I am so addicted to your site! There is a fabric you use alot, I’d love to get it. 4th picture (stack) down, and 3rd in the stack. Thanks, Mary
oh thanks Mary!!
That fabric you’re talking about is a print from Denyse Schmidt’s Flea Market Fancy line (one of my all time faves!). This line is currently out of print, but will be reprinted early next year.
This is a totally inspiring idea, by the way. I wouldn’t mind sorting through my stash and dreaming up some projects. The photo documentation would definitely help me recall it on a rainy day
Oooh, I love that last one!
Love your stacks. I know I’m making progress when I move my stacks from the floor to the cutting table….
that made me smile – someone else does that too!! I have so many stacks, it’s not even funny! With a 5 and 1 year old running around, I really don’t have enough quilting time!
I, too, have stacks that I call personal kits. I usually also have a pattern stored with them. They stay together until I either make the quilt or have “stolen” two fabrics from the stack. If the theft happens, I dismantle the stack and return the fabrics back to stash.
I had to laugh. I know what you mean!
Love the fabric combination
Collecting stacks is something that I should do. So when I find myself quaratined in my sewing room with I’ll have somehthing to do. I love the colors and patterns that you picked.
They’re awesome… I’m loving that orange/beige combination though… That DS quilts orange is so vibrant and lovely. Have fun playing!
The first one, and the second to last one are my favorites!! Wish I had stacks of potential quilts hanging around. Right now all I have is stacks of pj pants waiting to be sewn for christmas!
Yummy stacks! Thank you for sharing this part of your process!
Well, the stacks are lovely anyway. I seem to be getting stuck at the stacking part lately myself.
