I am so excited about this new line! I am a big fan of Lotta Jansdotter and her gorgeous fabrics, and am loving the fact that her designs will soon be available in a quilting-weight cotton. This line, called Echo, is being produced by Windham Fabrics and will be available in November. You can check the Windham blog to see some great projects made with these fabrics.
I was really excited to get a charm pack from Windham Fabrics. When I first saw photos of this line online, I thought I’d want to use these prints for clothing rather than quilting, but after seeing them in person, I now can’t wait for yardage to be available so I can use some for a quilt!
In fact, I’m loving them so much that I decided to see what kind of quilt I could make with the few charms I have. I’ve pulled out a few of the prints and paired them with some fabrics from my stash. We’ll see where it goes!
And now, a little something for one of you! I asked Windham Fabrics for a second charm pack so I could give one away. Just leave a comment here (one comment per person, please!). Do you have a favorite print or color in this new line? I love that turquoise, especially paired with the gray, and I’m quite fond of the crosshatch in brown – looks like a great basic! Lovely! I’m a huge fan of grey/yellow and now I’m getting into turquoise so this line makes me VERY happy.
My eye went right to the thin wavy lines with little buds or leaves on them, so I guess that’s my favorite!

It’s so hard to pick just one print. I think seeing them all together is what is best. But if I was forced to choose, I think I like the print that looks like a dandelion gone to seed the most.

Grey or blacks & whites would be my favorites–just think of the things they would match up with beautifully. I’ve been a fan of Lotta for a while, even have her books on printing on fabric and have tried some of the techniques. But mine never turned out quite like hers did…

This is the first I’ve heard of the line, and I love it. Each print is great on its own or in combination with the others. I always favor blue-green colors, so the aqua prints are my favorites. I think most of the collection works really well. It is clearly inspired by flowers but it’s not too girly. The combo works beautifully. I can see lots of home projects as well as quilts.

I like the one that looks like the stitching on a baseball (white with black and red). Not sure why it takes five minutes to get to teh place to leave you a comment…it scrolls really slow…not sure if I am the only one this happens to or if it is something you are aware of!
