I love browsing in thrift stores. I haven’t had any luck at the thrift stores in our area, but I always try to visit a few while I’m out of town. Typically I’m drawn to the furniture, where I always find something I just have to have (but can’t, since I’m miles and miles from home!). This time though, I skipped that section completely and went hunting for the quilting/sewing sections. My mom spotted this great selection of old quilting books and magazines –
and then over in the linens section I found this great new flat sheet, just perfect for the backing on some little boy quilt –
Now I must get back to my Christmas shopping! Once again I’ve waited until the last minute and now I’m scrambling… maybe some year I’ll learn to be more prepared!
Thanks so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes! It was a great day, spent on one of my favorite beaches… with that dish of tasty homemade ice cream (and yes, I did share it!)
(it’s so hard to return to snowy and cold Vermont!)
