scenes from the weekend

I’ve started to really enjoy the fall weather we’ve been having. It’s a bit cool in the mornings and evenings, but it’s been warm during the day and really crisp and clear. We opted to spend some time at the beach this weekend, enjoying the sun and the views.

We did some necessary end of summer chores, like pulling boats and docks. I use the word ‘we’ loosely though – my family members did their end of summer chores, while I mainly spent time taking photos of it all…. like this one, of my cousin Kyla cleaning the underside of the boat –

(She thought I was kidding when I said I was going to post this photo)

After the work, we hung out and did a little of this –

And all in all, it was quite a nice relaxing day.

I have been doing quite a bit of sewing, but at the moment I don’t have anything I can show you. I did get a little work done on this project though — love those stars!

There was a lot of quilting going on too – and hopefully I’ll be able to show you the final quilts soon!

Until then!

Seriously – your binding is fantastic! I still can NOT figure out how to do it without thread showing. Maybe I need to find a video somewhere. Gosh – that sounds so sad! haha!

We’ve been enjoying the fall weather here in CT too… it does get a bit chilly but it’s better than being hot and bothered!

I did a block like that for Amanda Jean (of Crazy Mom Quilts) and I’m hooked… definitely going to make a quilt of stars 🙂

can’t wait to see these projects (especially that straight line quilted one) finished.

Funny – why does it look like our boat is the last one in the water and on the beach? Shocking? Nope!

I LOVE stars, and yours is totally inspiring. I love that you put white as the center square as well as the background. Gonna have to give that a try.

haha ya you didnt really do much cleaning or manual labor. no i didnt think you would post the picture cause it is horrible and i didnt think it at all applied to quilting at all but of corse you found a way to slide it in. like seriously what is up with my hair?!?!?! now why does ryan only have to have his feet in the picture yet you have to have one of me cleaning the boat. i think that s unfair. love the stars the color looks great with the white background
