Flea Market Fancy for you!

Did I mention a fabric giveaway? Oh, I think I did! I hope there are others of you out there who love Denyse Schmidt’s out of print Flea Market Fancy as much as I do. I spent a lot of time searching for them, and now I’m going to do a little sharing…

The winner will receive 2 fat quarters of this wonderful fabric. And since everyone has a different favorite, the winner will be able to select which they’d rather – either set 1 – a fat quarter of the yellow/gold sprout fabric (one of my very favorites!) and one of the lovely green floral

or set 2 – one fat quarter of each of these cute polka dot prints in blue and pink.

Just leave me a comment telling me which set you’d like. I’d also love it if you tell me your favorite out of print fabric – it could be a specific print, or an entire line that’s now out of print. Maybe you’ll make me feel better about my obsessive collecting! (and of course, if you don’t have a favorite out of print fabric, then just tell me your current favorite!)

I’ll pick a winner on Friday night and will post the winner on Saturday morning. Everyone’s welcome to enter!

Edit: Comments are now closed. I’ll announce a winner tomorrow morning!

I am obsessed with Flea Market Fancy fabric. It is the one fabric collection I’ll purchase no matter how badly I don’t need fabric!! I love the sets you’re giving out. I don’t have any of those prints in my FMF collection. I’d love set 1, if I win!

  2. 2
    Jenny says:

    Love the green. πŸ™‚

I would say that I’m not sure what’s out of print and what is not, I guess I haven’t become that obsessive yet. πŸ˜‰

  3. 3
    Jennifer says:

I love the first set. I’ve just started sewing again, so I’m learning all about the beautiful fabrics that everyone uses. I really love anything by Amy Butler or Heather Bailey right now!

  4. 4
    Nichole says:

I think I am a fan of the green and orange. Very nice. πŸ™‚

I’m also not sure if I have an out of print fabric I love. I don’t think I have been collecting fabric long enough yet.

  5. 5
    Judy D. says:

I love that yellow sprout fabric!

I am becoming a bit obsessive about Heather Ross’ fabric, especially the gnomes…can’t get enough of it!

  6. 6
    Allison says:

I would definitly choose the yellow and green, I love those fabrics. I’ve been hoarding the Katie Jump Rope, I’ve made like three quilts from it and I just can’t get enough of it! I love your stuff and good luck with your wedding, its alot of work but SO worth it and you’ll always be glad! -ALlison

  7. 7
    Aimee says:

I would love the polka dots.

I don’t really know about out of print fabrics either. Sorry! I’m learning a lot about fabrics right now, so maybe someday…

  8. 8
    Serena says:

Oooh, the yellow/gold and green set! They’re beautiful. Green and yellow are my favorite colors!

  9. 9
    kama says:

I like set one. It’s so cute! I would love to use it on a quilt. I haven’t been collecting fabric long since I just started…and mostly have just gotten lots of fabric from my mom’s “reject” pile. πŸ™‚

  10. 10
    MichelleB says:

I, too, like the first set. I’m not sure what fabric that’s out of print that’s my favorite. I think I just get caught up in having some of the fabric that’s out of print, because I don’t want to miss out on it! And I love the hunt. LOL

  11. 11
    Jessie says:

Ooh!!! I’d add it to my hoarded collection. LOL. No, I’d probably use it for a quilt for our king-sized bed–that’s what I’m planning to do with the stuff I already have. I don’t have the green floral in the top picture, so I’d choose that combo! :O) Of course, my absolute, all time favorite out of print fabric is FMF, but I’m totally digging Heather Ross’ lightning bugs line…

  12. 12
    Kat says:

I’m loving the green and gold set. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my number gets called!!!! My favorite out of print line is the Marcus Brother’s Sand and Surf line. I’ve been picking up bits and pieces of it and hording like crazy. I’m saving it to make something special.

  13. 13
    Meghan says:

I love the first set! I can’t say that I pay enough attention to fabric to know what is out of print or not. I was excited to see that I found some of the black and white rectangle-in-oval fabric over the summer in Thailand. I wonder if it is the same, or just a coincidence or copy? Anyway, thanks for the great photos–you certainly have excellent taste.

  14. 14
    betsy says:

my favorite is the orange and green.
I love all fabrics so I do not have any out of print yet.

  15. 15
    Rhiannon says:

    that’s a tricky one. I’m going to go for set number 2 I think…

  16. 16
    Christin says:

Oh wow I’d love the yellow/gold sprout fabric. I have a two fat quarters from the FMF line and I can’t bring myself to put them in a project yet. When I do…it will be for me πŸ˜‰ I love pretty much love Heather Ross’ stuff too.

  17. 17
    Audrey says:

My favorite is the green and gold! So pretty! I love the marcus Sand and Surf line and the Flea Market Fancy.

  18. 18
    Michelle says:

Well, I just figured out this whole designer fabric business less than a year ago…so of course, I have no flea market fancy AT ALL…so I like both options!

My fav out of print is the Heather Ross Lightning Bugs – the gnome & happy campers prints…that line was eclectic, but worked so well together!

  19. 19
    Tracy says:

I am new to quiliting-as in, I am binding my first quilt ever but I have been following fabric for awhile. I would love the green and yellow combo if you were to pick me πŸ™‚
And since I dont have a fav out of print one exactly, in general, I’d love to get my hands on some cute Japanese fabric.

  20. 20
    Christina says:

I have searched high and low for the sprout print. I really would like some in my stash…I’m not sure if it would ever get used! I really want to find some of the green and grey sprout print, too. The only line I like, that’s out of print, is the Denyse Schmidt lines. I wish they would bring them back!

  21. 21
    katie says:

wow! I can’t believe you can bear to give some of that fabric away! I’d love to add the blue dots one. It’s one that I don’t have in my own collection. And I think I don’t even have to tell you my favorite fabric collection πŸ˜‰ hee hee

  22. 22
    Debra says:

Wow, thats a tough choice, I love orange, but I have to go with the polka dots! I’m too new to sewing to have an out-of print favorite, but spotted the orange houndstooth fabric in some of your stuff which is out of print and wished I had some! Also love any of the Joel Dewberry wood grain fabrics.

  23. 23
    anina says:

Oooh, you are very generous. I’d be hoarding this. I love the polka dots. My favorite right now is Woodland Bloom by Lila Tueller. It may be out of print already…

  24. 24
    Natalija says:

I love these polka dot prints, really cute πŸ™‚

And I like all the “Soire’e” fabric line by Lila Tueller.

  25. 25
    Alexsi says:

I think that my favorite out of prints are Michael Miller holiday fabrics from last year. The retro trees and baubles are wonderful and the ornament fabric cannot be found anywhere! I actually paid shipping at a half dozen different sites just for one yard of fabric each because nobody had them all. My current favorites are the Tina Givens Fairy Tiptoes prints and Urban Chicks 1974. I have a charm pack of 1974 and am seriously considering the zigzag pattern you made…love it. IF, I would be so lucky as to win the giveaway, I would be thrilled with either set. Take care and keep quilting.

  26. 26
    Patty says:

I am not sure if I have a favorite out of print fabric but I really like the Moda Wee Play fabrics; they are so cute!

  27. 27
    Katherine says:

Love the giveaway! I like set #1 the best.

My fave out of print fabric is Heather Ross Gnome print..I love it!!!

  28. 28

oh, those top two are my very favorite. My most regretted discontinued line is the Amy Butler Ginger Bliss in Curry. Aah. I started sewing right as it started leaving shelves forever. I have a bit of it, but not nearly enough.

  29. 29
    Sarah says:

I like the bottom set most. I heart polka dots!

I’m obsessed with Henry Alexander fabric right now. I love any fabric that has birds or flowers on it! πŸ™‚

  30. 30
    Anita says:

I really love both prints, but I think the polka dota are really special. Sadly I missed Denise Schmidt’s lighting bug print. None of my local quilt shops sold it and I missed the boat for the on-line retailers. Thank you for sharing!

  31. 31
    marie says:

I love the first set. I’m haven’t got too much into discontinued lines…I’m a bargain scrap shopper mostly, so if I find it at one of my favorite remnent shops and love it, I take it! BUT, every single fabric you mentioned that was out of print is so yum that I may start hunting.

  32. 32
    Angela C. says:

I would chose the polka dot set. I’m new to sewing so I don’t have a favorite out of print collection. I do like the Andalucia line by Patty Young. Thanks for the giveaway.

  33. 33
    Tracy says:

Ohhhh if I win, I would love the polka dot set!!

The one set of fabrics I wish I had been able to stash hasn’t yet been discontinued, but it wasn’t bought up like many other lines. It’s Lush by Erin Michael. I can get bits and pieces but I want it all!!

  34. 34
    Tricia says:

I’d love the floral set! My fabric fabric seems to be Amy Butler’s Lotus Wallflower…any color! I seem to keep putting some(or a lot!) in a quilt and then running over to etsy and re-stocking my stash with it!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  35. 35
    Carrie says:

The orange and green are great together. Not sure if they are out of print yet, but I feel in love with Joel Dewberry’s Aviary and Chestnut Hill collections.

  36. 36
    Amy Hodge says:

I totally love the green and orange ones! You know, I only started visiting “better” quilting shops with designer lines of fabric less than a year ago, so I don’t know much about what is out of print. But I love the Flea Market lines and everything Denyse Schmidt, so I bet I’d like some of the older out of print fabrics from those lines. There is just so much great fabric out there, I’m overwhelmed sometimes! Oh — and thanks for having a giveaway!

  37. 37
    Kerry says:

Love the green and orange! Recently I have taking a liking to retro/vintage looking collections – unfortunately I missed out on Urban Chiks Summer in the City – all I was able to find was a charm pack.

  38. 38
    Amy says:

Right now I’m digging anything with linen in it. I guess I’m dreaming of warmer days…

  39. 39
    Alissa says:

I have just been thinking about how I have to get more yellow & green in my stash! Perhaps this might make that happen! Ha! My fav. out of print line is definitely Moda’s Uptown. I have used it in ever freakin’ quilt I’ve made (it feels like!) and now that I’m down the my last scraps it is so tough for me to let go! Yet I keep on using it like crazy rather than keeping the precious last bits! I try to see it like this: it changes up the challenge when you can’t always turn to the same fabrics, so that’s a good thing!

  40. 40
    Martha says:

I love them both, but I think I’m partial to the first set. As for my favorite out of print fabrics, I haven’t been sewing long enough to have one. Totally love anything by Joel Dewberry and Amy Butler, though. Thanks for having a giveaway!

  41. 41
    Joy says:

I LOVE the first set! So lovely!

  42. 42
    N. says:

I’d love the yellow/orange and green. I have a great idea for an orange quilt.

I like the Heather Ross goldfish but I’m not sure what I’d do with it even if I had it.

  43. 43
    Valerie says:

I’m a huge fan of Flea Market Fancy and anything Denyse Schmidt really! A few months ago I found one yard of the bird paint by number on etsy, the vendor had another yard in green. I wonder if she still has it!
If i were to win this contest I’d pick the dotted print, because I have some of the other 2!
Thanks for this great contest : )

  44. 44
    Jill says:

Seriously, you are too kind. i love the first set (gold and green) and this would be the line I would love to find tons of. This and maybe some of the handwriting fabric, oh and I just read the post above, ditto on the Heather Ross goldfish. Can’t wait to see what you make out of all that fabric! πŸ™‚

  45. 45

I really like the first set! The orange is just too perfect.

I am so sad to admit that I do not have any of the Flea Market Fancy line =( Once I started to hear people talk about it I went to my local stores…but no luck. I would love to at least get a little of it.

Thanks so much for this opportunity. You will make someone very happy

  46. 46
    Deanne says:

There was a great paisley in Amy Butler’s Ginger Bliss line. I only bought a fat quarter of the green (lime peel?), blue, and pink/orange. I wish I had gotten at least a yard of each AND my pink/orange one is missing…sniff, sniff.

I like both sets you have up there, if I had to pick I would go wiht the dots.

  47. 47
    Whitney says:

I love the yellow/gold sprouts and green fabric. There is something about yellow that is so happy. Right now I am obsesed with any fabric from the Lighting Bug & other Mysteries gallery by Heather Ross. I am on the hunt. I also love Katie Jump Rope.

  48. 48
    Debbie says:

Oh My! I would pick the yellow/gold with the beautiful green.
    My granddaughter loves GREEN!

  49. 49
    Kerri says:

ohhh!! i’m getting giddy just thinking about it!! i think i’d pick the orange and green set. definately need to work on getting more in my stash with those colors. they look great together too! πŸ™‚

  50. 50
    Meg says:

Ohh, I’d love the second set!

I don’t have a favorite out of print fabric… I just wish I could find a decent police print!!

  51. 51
    Sarah says:

Ooh, I love set 1! And – I’m not entirely sure what my favorite out-of-print fabric is. I haven’t been around long enough in the fabric world to know. πŸ˜‰

  52. 52
    Natalie says:

I love anything Amy Butler right now. If I win (please! please!) I really like the first “pack” I especially love the yellow sprout. Thanks for the giveaway!

  53. 53
    Jessica says:

I always wondered where those sprouts came from. That would be my pick, for sure. I love the Heather Ross goldfish. I’d embellish some bathroom towels.

  54. 54
    kelly says:

I love the yellow & green….My favorite fabric addiction is Joel Dewberry aviary in he orange and brown. I have this addition for sparrows & crows. I just love it

  55. 55
    stephanie says:

Wow, how very generous of you! I could really learn from your sharing. I’m currently in the hoarding mode of just about everything. Flea Market Fancy and Katie Jump Rope are my favorites… sigh… I just keep telling myself that more beautiful collections will come out in the future. Right??!!

  56. 56
    jennicakes says:

Oooh, definitely the second. I’ve been looking for it for over a year! And speaking of Denyse Schmidt, I really wish I’d been able to score more Katie Jump Rope when it was available.

  57. 57
    Cami says:

Love them all! I would choose the first one though because the orange sprout is one that I love!

  58. 58
    Sarah says:

I like the dots! they are way fun!

  59. 59
    Frogdancer says:

    Spots!! Spots!! Spots!!

I’ve only been sewing for a year and yesterday I went through and sorted through my piles of fabric and organised them.

I have enough polka dots to make a couple of quilts. I knew I liked geometric-y prints but I had no idea I was so into dots.

My head is buzzing with ideas…

  60. 60
    barbara says:

i would pick the dots, they are lovely. i just started fabric loving so i’m not sure i have and out of print choice.

  61. 61
    Darci says:

Such a hard decision, both of them are great. I think I will have to go for the polka dot prints. I don’t have a fav that is out of print, but my favorite fabric (at least for now) is Starling by Alexander Henry. I can’t get enough of those birds.

  62. 62
    Ashley says:

    Ooooo, green and gold, please!

  63. 63
    Shorty says:

I must admit that I’m a fabric novice…I have no flea market finds of my own, however I’m dying to start digging around now that I know about them! Thanks for the opportunity to win the fat quarters. I love the yellow & green floral and am happy to take them off your hands!

  64. 64
    Michelle says:

I love the Polka Dot prints set best.

My favorite out of print fabric..I have no idea who makes it but I can’t find it anywhere..it’s 1 yard of black and white newsprint fabric of jungle animals that I purchased on eBay about 8 years ago. I’ve had it stored in the fabric-hoarding closet since then. If I had more, I’d make curtains out of it but since I don’t and just rediscovered it the other day, I guess a pillowcase will have to do.

  65. 65
    Kerri says:

Ooooh! I love the green set (found your lovely blog thru Bee Square Blog).

The OOP fabric I lust for would have to be Kaufman Forget Me Not, designed by Kimberly Poloson, with the dress forms on it *sigh* πŸ™‚

  66. 66
    Gretchen says:

Loving the first pair. Please don’t make me choose favorites. It makes me feel too guilty leaving somebody out πŸ™‚

  67. 67
    Shawna says:

I think I will pick the green and yellow. They are both wonderful! I am new to this whole designer fabric idea. Until a few months ago, I didn’t know you could get fabric anywhere but Walmart and JoAnn’s!

  68. 68
    Liz says:

I have to go with the green and gold. I love, love, love green fabric… and just found a purse pattern that uses a fat quarter. So this would just make my week. πŸ™‚

  69. 69
    Rina says:

I love the first pair, too. My favorite fabric is an Alexander Henry print of these pink and green flowers.

  70. 70
    Katherine says:

    Hi there…first time commenter.

Like you, I came into the fabric world after Flea Market Fancy was discontinued, so for me it exists as an urban legend of the fabric world. We got a reprieve with the Country Fair fabric, but I like the weight of this fabric more. I am drawn to set 1 more than set 2.

Another discontinued fave is Alexander Henry’s Las Senoritas. It is available on the web in dwindling numbers. It makes great throw pillows for gifts. It is definitely a fun fabric.

  71. 71
    Emily C says:

Hi there! i love the first set – the yellow/gold sprout fabric and the lovely green floral. my favorite out of print fabric set is Amy Butler’s Lotus collection. I just recently got into quilting this last summer, and hung on to the Amy Butler Brick Path quilt pattern that was done with the Lotus line, but then i didn’t get started on it until this month. i was so sad when i went to my local quilting fabric shop and they only had one fabric left from the entire line. that is where my online and etsy searching started. i’ve been able to find a few. but now i want to buy it whenever i see it, b/c i don’t ever want to not have access to it! πŸ™‚

  72. 72
    erica says:

second set for me, please πŸ™‚

as for my favorite out-of-print fabric … I have lots but if it’s okay, I’d like to vent about not being able to buy any Heather Ross fabric in my town. We have four (so called) quilt shops and none of them even know what I’m talking about when I ask if they have or can order Heather Ross. Argh. what I wouldn’t do for some sea horses or mermaids or gnomes. It might as well be out of print.

  73. 73
    Amber says:

Yeah fabric πŸ™‚ I love set 2. My favorite out-of-print fabric would have to be Heather Ross’s goldfish – just too cute.

  74. 74
    Rebecca says:

I’d pick set one. I’d have to say I was most disappointed to hear that the Katie Jump Rope line was being discontinued. thanks for the chance!

  75. 75
    Joanna says:

My fav is the green and gold πŸ™‚ As for out of print fabrics, gosh it would probably be the Flea Market Fancy! When it first came out I wasn’t a fan – my head was in a totally different place, but over the last year I have fallen in love with it and wish I had purchased it when I had the chance. Sigh!!!

  76. 76
    JenniMac says:

I love the green and yellow fabrics but I think I could make more use of the blue and red polka dots. I don’t have a fabric fabric to speak of, I’m sort of new to this whole fabric thing.

  77. 77
    Sam E. says:

Oh, they’re both fabulous! I like 1 the best, I think. And if I could have an entire room of every one of Heather Ross’s lines, past present and future? I would be a happy camper.

  78. 78
    Jeannine says:

I love the sprout and floral fabric.

Recently I’ve been going nuts finding old-school Curious George fabric. I’ve managed to score some flannel fabric, but because my son love George, I’m always on the lookout!

  79. 79
    Janelle says:

I love the yellow and green set. I have some scraps left of Heather Ross’s gnome fabric, and I’m always on the lookout for more, in the other colors or in flannel. My husband surprised me with some flannel pajamas for Christmas made from the said gnome flannel! No, he didn’t make them himself, but found them on some handmade website I think. Awesome.

  80. 80
    Angela says:

I love Fabric… count me in

  81. 81
    Ginger says:

I’d love th egreen and orange set! My favorite our of print fabric is Moda’s paint by number birds by Erin Michaels

  82. 82
    Dana says:

I love every design in the whole collection so I don’t know how I’d choose between the two!! But, I’ll find a way. πŸ™‚

  83. 83
    Hana says:

I really like set 2; I’ve only just started getting into fabric browsing so I don’t know what’s out of print, but I am intent on getting a collection started!

  84. 84
    Kristena says:

Set #1 please! I so love the Cath Kidston fabric that was sold at Ikea years ago. I believe it was called Rosali. πŸ™‚

  85. 85
    Jennifer says:

My favorite is set #2 with the polka dots! I have some amazing vintage fabric that was my grandma’s-obviously all discontinued now and almost too precious to use…wish I could get my hands on some of my faves and still keep hers sacred πŸ™‚

  86. 86
    terriaw says:

My favorite set is the polka dot prints. And my favorite out of print fabric is the Bohemian line by Anna Maria Horner. Thanks for the chance!

  87. 87
    Allison says:

I adore anything Denyse Schmidt. Her work really is an inspiration. And, I’m not kidding, that polka dot fabric is my FAVORITE. Each time I see it poking out of someone’s quilt I just love it. Thanks for being generous!

  88. 88
    Narelle says:

I love the 2nd set! I too don’t know enough about fabrics too name a particular kind! I just love a lot of the blue/brown and pink/brown designs!

  89. 89
    georgia says:

Oh my! Look at all the comments!
An out of print fabric that I loved was called Elsie’s Kitchen, by Anna Griffin. It was a retro 50’s style and colourful and fun and it had the perfect cherry print. I only ever bought a little bit of it because it was before I really became that interested in sewing. Wouldn’t it be great if they didn’t *ever* go out of print?!

  90. 90
    Barb says:

Great giveaway!!! I love the first set. I’m just discovering these beautiful fabrics but the second set makes me smile – my friend made me a bag out of the pink dots a few years ago. I didn’t even know what I had! My favourite fabric that isn’t out of print, but is difficult to find, is Lush by Erin Michael. I wish I had some of those great paint-by-number deer.

  91. 91
    Allie says:

I’d love the polka dots–very fun!
Right now I’m lovin’ the City Girls fabrics in the pink and browns. I think I have made a million things with it. I also just love “collecting”.

  92. 92
    Liz U. says:

    I love the polka dots!

I haven’t been into hard core sewing long, but I am currently obsessed with Micheal Miller’s skull and crossbones- you know, the ones with the scissors and knitting needles instead.

  93. 93
    Kathy says:

You are very generous! I just stumbled upon your blog a couple of weeks ago and I love it. You are industrious to say the least. I have just recently started sewing again myself and am overwhelmed by the choices out there, and yet, I agree that when something is out of print I feel gypped. I am in a self-imposed fabric buying moratorium but love the new Lizzy Dish and hope to get some to make more of your pieced flour sack towels. (the first one I made is now living at a friend’s-it was her birthday)

  94. 94
    Kathy says:

Oh yeah-I’d love either set, but I think I would pick the first set-at least today . . .

  95. 95
    abby says:

I (heart) the polkadots. I don’t really have a favorite out of print fabric. I’ve pretty much wanted every swatch I’ve seen.

  96. 96

I love the polka dots!! I love anything that chez moi produces for moda – the paisley’s and florals are amazing πŸ™‚

  97. 97
    Robyn Foster says:

Love the Flea Market Fancy prints! I am also currently loving Treetop Fancy by Tina Givens. LOVING IT. Have ordered it. Lots of it!!

  98. 98
    Jessy Roos says:

Wow! This is very generous-I don’t know if I could share after all that hunting. I would be so excited to get either pair, but I think my favourite is the first set. I am fairly new to the fabric and quilting world so I don’t know of many of the out of print lines. I do love Flea Market Fancy so I guess that counts. My current fav though is pretty much anything by Heather Ross-it’s so cute and whimsical!

  99. 99
    Casey says:

love the polka dots. I don’t think I have a favorite out of print fabric though

Ooh la la. I love the first one most especially. I haven’t been a fabric hound for long enough to have an OP favorite, but this would definitely do the trick!

Great giveaway! I like the polka dots! My favorite out of print fabric just happens to be Flea Market Fancy!

  102. 102
    nettie says:

my fingers are crossed! i really can’t get enough of that flea market fancy. hmm, i’m not sure which i would pick, maybe the dots. but i also like the green.

my current ‘obsession’ is finding some of heather ross’ mushrooms on white. i also like to find her older lines for munki munki

  103. 103

    Wow…I love the first set!
I don’t really have any out of print fabric…I’ve just begun
my obsession with fabric. My stash is just ‘building’
and is only one teeny tiny plastic boxful at the moment.

i like set two and my fav prints are florence broadhurst designs

  105. 105
    Lindsey says:

I love the first set. I’ve only been quilting for 2 months so I don’t really no much about out of print fabrics.

    Thanks for the chance.

  106. 106
    Linda says:

Both sets are nice–I would be happy with either one! Designer fabric is all new to me so I don’t have a favorite out of print fabric…I’m slowly adding to my collection.

  107. 107
    Julie says:

The green set would make some super cute appliques for baby onesies! I don’t think I’ve been involved in the fabric world long enough for something to go out of print, but the gold fish print from yesterday is pretty nifty, and almost anything with furniture. Crossing my fingers!

  108. 108
    erica says:

I love the yellow sprout fabric, sadly i have never owned any. I am bummed about my favorite amy butler print which is still in print but is nowhere near the same color as the original. So, I guess you could say that the olive full moon polka dot from the amy butler line is “out of print.” I too am crossing my fingers!

  109. 109
    Pikku-Kettu says:

    Green and gold definitely!

I’m not sure if it’s out of print or not but I can’t seem to find it anywhere: Alexander Henry’s “In crowd”.

    Caitlyn says:

Sadly, I discovered Flea Market Fancy too late to get to use it. I could use the polka dots in the quilt I’m currently working on though– so cute!

I hate hate hate to see fabric lines discontinued. I think I’ll miss the very versatile Heather Ross Lightning Bugs line the most. Its so cute, great for quilting, yet heavy enough for other projects too.

  111. 111
    Fran says:

The green is lovely, I’ve also missed out on Flea Market but would love a chance to own some!
    Thank you.

I love the set 2! Polka dots rule!!
This past week I’ve been considering getting a stock of Kona cotton solids… That’s what I’ve been obsessed these last days, although I love bright colors everywhere! πŸ™‚

Thanks for holding this giveaway! πŸ™‚

  113. 113
    Julie says:

I like both, but especially the floral print in the first set. I don’t have a favorite out of print fabric, but I really like Denyse Schmidt’s fabrics. I especially like what she did with the “cheater” design County Fair Patchwork Promenade. I made a quick quilt for my mom out of that fabric and some of the others from that line. Thanks.

  114. 114
    Cecilia says:

    I love the yellow.
I do not have a favorite fabric but green is my favorite color!

  115. 115
    Kay says:

I love the cute polka set! When I first looked at it I already hat lots of nice projects for it in mind πŸ˜‰
Hmm, my personal favourites. I’d have to admit that I’m not yet that far with my sewing that I could decide on one. I admire a lot of fabrics from afar. For example the Andalucia fabrics by Patty Young. Gorgeous!

  116. 116
    Janet says:

I love the yellow/green combo, it would go so great with the other FMF I snagged in the fabric.com sale a few weeks ago. I personally love the joel dewberry chocolate woodgrain…which I can’t find anywhere!

  117. 117
    Melanie says:

I really like the polka dot fabric, too cute! My favorite fabric right now is M’Liss Rae’s blue paisley collection, I love it.

  118. 118
    Sara says:

    Hi there,
I love both of the choices, but who am I kidding, I’m a dot fanatic.
I already told you about pining over Heather Ross, so I’ll tell you that my favorite designer of all time is Anna Maria Horner. Love her colors so much.

  119. 119
    Kimmer says:

LOVE thos polka dots! Can think of a thousand uses for them… I don’t know about anything out of print that I’m aware I have to have, but did someone mention gnomes?!?! If those are out of print, I need them! I am a gnome fanatic.

There should be a twelve step program…

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  120. 120
    jenn says:

Hi! I think I am going to obsess over Anna Marie’s Good Folks. I can not wait to get my hands on that. It must be the gray of winter that has me so color hungry. I am not usually so crazy for it!
I would love set one, the colors are fantastic. Fun giveaway!

  121. 121
    Ellen B says:

I wish I could find more of the blue and grey colorways of Flea Market Fancy…I have a small
stash of most of the others…Also would love to find more old Heather Ross, like the Goldfish and beach prints. I would love to win the first group(Green/Yellow). I’m almost afraid to cut into my Flea Market Fancy until I find the “perfect” project to showcase them!

  122. 122
    Wendy says:

Love the green and gold! They’ll make something so cheery. Thanks for putting them on giveaway.

  123. 123
    Kelly says:

I would love to get my arms around some of that “paint by number” bird print. I’m not sure of the designer.
I’m lovin’ those blue and pink dots!

Thanks for the giveaway and thanks for a great website – you give me a lot of inspiration.

  129. 129
    Wendy says:

I would love set 1! I don’t really have a favorite out of print, as I just started this whole crazy thing. I ready your year end perspective from Sew, Mama, Sew and got inspired to start!

  131. 131
    Jennifer says:

Love those polka dots! Didn’t think I was a polka dot person, but every time I see dotted fabric, I’m in love.

  132. 132
    Maggie says:

I love the first set. It would make such a cute clutch or wristlet. I have seen others mention Heather Ross as a favorite for out of print fabrics, I specifically love the bicycles and snatched some up before it was all gone.

  133. 133
    Sara says:

It’s hard but I would love Set 2. I don’t know what my favorite out of print fabric was called–it was on sale at PurlSoho about a year ago and was sort of a French decor travel retro type print. I wasn’t really sewing at the time so felt I couldn’t justify it and now I wish I had stashed it!

  134. 134
    Kathy says:

Oh, I love the first set. I also don’t know alot about the out of print lines – but I love everyone you guys show on your blogs – so I’m worried that I might start hording like the rest of you!

  135. 135
    Jill J. says:

I LOVE the first set. Thanks so much for sharing!

I jump around on the web and drool at all of the lovely fabric, but I’m a newlywed (good luck with the wedding planning, btw) and have so many unfinished projects around the house that I’m trying not to start anything new. I do adore all of the Denyse Schmidt and Amy Butler fabrics.

And I just want to say – I just stumbled on your blog last week. I’m super impressed with all you’ve accomplished in just a year – you are so talented!

  136. 136
    Anna Socrates says:

Oh, I’d love set 2, please. Hmmm favorite fabric: I have two and I think they are out of print. I got them from Ebay. One is a set of the Charles Dana Gibson girl heads and the other is a collage of Art Nouveau ladies. I have a thing for pretty ladies. I also won some fabric with paper doll dresses on it. I would love to make a simple quilt to just showcase all these wonderful pictorial fabrics.

    Jennifer Ladd says:

I love the green and yellow set – so bright and pretty!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  138. 138
    Beth says:

I’m crazy about the dots… I have been since they came out and I saved every last 1/2″ scrap from the blue I had! It’s still out there but I’m a little obsessive about the DS patchwork promenade (cheater print)! I’m definitely hoarding.

  139. 139
    Kanina says:

    Oh noo… I hope I didn’t miss entry… I like the polka dots!
Last fall I become obsessed with Tula Pink and wanted some flutterby prints which seem to be quite hard to find.

  140. 140
    Sydney says:

I just discovered fabric. It’s dangerous. I love greens of all sorts and am a current fan of Amy Butler, but I’m sure that will change as I dive out and explore. Where are you finding your OOP fabrics? And good suggestions for websites?

  141. 141
    mara says:

i’m obsessed with green, esp. anything lime or acid, so i’d have to pick the first batch (though it’s a tough choice).

my favorite oop fabric is probably alexander henry’s “peace” — though you can still find it at joann’s. i made chair cushions and a curtain out of it (http://kleiosbelly.wordpress.com/2009/01/18/embracing-imperfection-finishing-the-chair-cushion/).

    Michelle says:

I’d soooooo Love to get my hands on those dots!! Very generous!

  143. 143
    Jenny says:

I’m loving the dots. I don’t know if this is out of print or if I just didn’t look in the right places – Two Young Street by Prints Charming had some fabrics I became obsessed with for making my son’s crib bedding last summer. Obsessed. Like the tv babysat my other two kids till I could piece together enough from random online shops for the bedding kind of obsessed. In the end I found enough to make it work but the possible heartbreak of not finding it made me promise myself not to try something like that again…Oh and I just have to say I love the zig zag quilt a lot. That’s a great one to use for a guy gift, I think.

  144. 144
    Kristen says:

Oooh, I love the sprout fabric. It is just my all time fave. I used to have some in green, but now I can’t find it anywhere.

  145. 145
    Natasha says:

Very tricky I love them both. But probably the pink and blue.

  146. 146
    danielle says:

Oh! The green and yellow would work great for my studio curtains!
I know exactly how you feel about the out of print fabric, right now I am obsessed with finding pieces Bohemian. I have been hording anything I can find/afford. I also went crazy for the Day in The Country line by Fig Tree. Their is something to knowing they will never be printed again that makes me want more then I realy need…
By the way, their was a lady on ebay selling bolt of the Flea Market Fancy a few days ago.

    Thanks for sharing

  147. 147
    Alison says:

I love both sets of fabric but my favorite is set 1. I don’t really have a favorite out of print fabric, or a current fabric. Since I think I’m addicted to fabric, I always am finding that “just have to have that” fabric.

  148. 148
    alexis says:

i love both sets, but really love the yellow and green set. i dont know the name of my favorite fabric, but its a japanese print of little red riding hood. the background is choclate brown and has really rich reds, yellows and greens, if i could find it again i’d buy yards of it!

  149. 149
    Joanna says:

I am also a fan of Heather Ross’ Gnomes and always hope that I’ll magically come across it one day. Please put me in for the orange and green! Lovely.

  150. 150
    Erin says:

I like both sets, but I think my favorite is set #2. I too love fabric of any kind. I find that my way to not have that regret is to not walk into the fabric store! I was doing SO WELL until over Christmas Break! My favorite “lost fabric” would have to be anything by 3 Sisters for Moda. I love their colors and designs. I still have some from about 5 years ago that I have been hoarding for something special!

  151. 151
    Mushyhed says:

I love both sets but if I had to choose, it’d be set #1. As for favorite discontinued fabric, it would have to be the Heather Ross’ gnomes. Thanks for sharing your collection.

  152. 152
    Rachel says:

I love the second set!! Thanks for the chance to win! πŸ™‚

  153. 153
    Anna says:

I love the yellow and green combo. I really love the Heather Ross’ goldfish fabric. I wasn’t too into fabric before it was discontinued, so sadly, I have none.

  154. 154
    Tricia says:

I love the green and gold set. I don’t have a favorite discontinued fabric, because I haven’t been quilting all that long. I am only beginning to start my fabric stash. πŸ™‚
    Thanks for sharing!

  155. 155
    Lori says:

Ooooh, I love the first one, the yellow and green. I’m too new to sewing to have a favorite out of print fabric!

  156. 156
    Maggie says:

I’d love the first set. There is a fabric by Prints Charming that I’m in love with but it is out of print. It has a beautiful palate and a great hand. I have two or three yards I’ve been hoarding.

  157. 157
    Janna says:

You are too nice:) I think I like the gold/green set best. I can see an apron with this one it, or some dishtowels.

There are SO MANY out of print fabrics I love! One of my favs is the VW’s and banana seat bikes from Heather Ross’s Lightening Bug line – so cute, love the nostalgia. I LOVED the VW vans when I was a teenager. I’m 30:) I had a banana seat bike too!

But I also love the green County Fair Dotted Leaves by Denyse Schmidt – can’t find any of that either:( Never have had any.

And Amy Butlers Charm line is just so pretty!

Thanks for the giveaway, I never win anything either. But it sure is exciting trying!

  158. 158
    Jody says:

Thank you for the giveaway….you are always so generous…I’d have to say FMF is my favourite as well…I love Denyse Schmidt! If I had the chance, I’d love to win the polka dot set! I’m definitely a polka dot girl!

  159. 159
    Donna says:

I like the gold and green set best, too. I have a tiny bit of the leaf pattern in green and I can’t bring myself to use it. I think it’s my favourite out of print fabric so I’d love some of the gold.

I am currently hoarding some or erin mcmorris’ park slope charm squares and hope they’re still in print. I love the birds.

This is a wonderful and generous thing you’re doing with this giveaway. Love, love, love your quilts.

  160. 160
    Karissa says:

Oh, I love them BOTH, but am especially enamored with that baby sprout, so would have to go with the first set.

I scored three fat quarters of Erin Michael’s paint-by-number birds totally unexpectedly and nearly hyperventilated. My problem now is that I hoard these things! No project ever seems good enough, or I’m afraid to cut them!

  161. 161
    Sandy says:

I would go with the first set, I love the colors and the designs. I don’t really have a favorite out of print fabric, always looking for something new.

  162. 162
    Jen V says:

My favorite “out of print” fabric is a red floral that I bought at Goodwill that was originally a 70’s prairie dress. I bought it many, many years ago during my first earliest sewing craze. I’ve been holding onto it waiting for the ability to create something really great with it. I just hope I haven’t put it on such a pedestal that I’ll regret what I do with it no matter what!

Set 1 is simply lovely. Fingers crossed!

  163. 163
    Vone says:

I love the dots – so cute.

I some fabric that looks like a degas sky – so beautiful. I’ve had it for years and haven’t done anything with it yet – but you have inspired me to make my daughter a quilt.

  164. 164
    jen w says:

how wonderful of you to share! i would love some, choice 1 probably. i just love fabric, in print, out of print….it might be a good thing that i haven’t found any out of print i’m obsessed with yet…although i do love all things Denyse Schmidt. thanks again for the fabric opportunity!

  165. 165
    Alaina says:

I love the polka dots. I think they are so sweet. And, Flea Market Fancy is my favorite out of print line of fabric…it is just beautiful!

  166. 166
    Joree says:

    Hey Ashley.

I would love set 2, as I have some of the first set hoarded away already. LOL!

My favorite OOP fabric/line would have to be??? Hmmm??? It was Futue-Ella, but AH just reproduced the line… I guess I would have to say the Nancy Drew fabric. Don’t laugh, it is ridiculous I know, but I loved the books growing up.

  167. 167
    Sue Cahill says:

I miss some of the 1930’s prints that are now out of print. I hang on to the little snippets I have.

Oooh, right now I am addicted to ‘Vegetable Stripe’ from the ‘Vegetables’ collection by Martha Negley for Rowan Fabrics. I bought some on super-sale to make a skirt but I could use so much more in each colorway! I love the set one, the little leaves on the orange print make me happy!

  171. 171

  173. 173
    Violet Craft says:

My absolute favorite OOP fabric line is Amy Butler’s first line, Gypsy Caravan. I have a complete fat quarter pack that I COVET. I have finally started cutting it into a quilt. My second fav is actually her second line, Temple Flowers. I only have about 1/4 of that line and find myself spending a small fortune on pieces when I find them.

I would love the first set if I win! I don’t have either of those pieces yet. I wasn’t into the yellow and green when it first came out and now of course LOVE IT!

    Thank you!

I love buying fabric when I can.. I don’t know too much about what’s out of print. I’m really digging Heather Bailey’s Pop Garden, so it probably won’t be too long before the Freshcut line goes away. Thanks for the chance!

  180. 180
    Jessica says:

Wow, what coincidental timing. I’ve been trying to hunt down fabric from this very line for ages now. Of course I cottoned on to the Denise Schmidt craze after her original Flea Market Fancy started disappearing from shelves, and it’s my favorite of hers! I would love the top stack. Thanks for the giveaway :-).

Oh both sets are so lovely! But if I have to pick, I guess I would pick set #2. I’m just new to finding all these cool fabric designers like Denise Schmidt, so I don’t know what has gone out of print. But I would love to find some good ninja and robot fabrics, my son wants a ninja/robot quilt for his bed.

I really like the whole Flea Market Fancy line, but only have one little half yard piece of it. Not enough to start collecting all of the others. I am trying to get all of the Katie Jump Rope prints, though. Other out of print lines I like – Marcus “Surf and Sand,” Timeless Treasures “Lotus,” Moda “Blossom,” and I just heard that Heather Bailey’s “Freshcut” line is no longer in print. I’m also trying to get prints from Cake Rock Beach (Moda), but I’m not sure if it’s out of print or not.
